The Event (Die Veranstaltung)
The Hamburg Triathlon, often referred to as the “World’s Biggest Triathlon,” attracts approximately 8,000 athletes and 300,000 spectators annually. This year marks its 22nd edition and is scheduled to take place over the weekend of July 12-13, 2025.
The event features two main race categories: the Sprint and Olympic Distances. In addition to these races, elite competitions, including the World Triathlon Championship Series individual races and the Mixed Relay World Championships, add a layer of excitement as national teams compete in a fast-paced relay format.
The triathlon course is uniquely urban, starting with a swim in the Binnenalster, followed by a bike ride through Hamburg’s wide streets, showcasing iconic city landmarks, and concluding with a run that finishes at the historic Rathausmarkt, greeted by enthusiastic crowds.
Mit ca. 8.000 Athleten und 300.000 Zuschauern wir der Hamburg Triathlon auch als “The World’s Biggest Tri“ (der größte Tri der Welt”) bezeichnet. Am 12-13.Juli 2025 findet die 22. Auflage der Veranstaltung statt.
Das Event hat zwei Hauptrennen: den Sprint und die Olympische Distanz. Neben diesen beiden Rennen finden außerdem die Elite Wettkämpfe, wie die Einzel der World Triathlon Championship Series und die Mixed Relay World Championships statt, und sorgen für zusätzliche Spannung, wenn die Nationalmannschaften in einem rasanten Staffelformat gegeneinander antreten.
Der urbane Kurs startet mit dem Schwimmen in der Binnenalster, gefolgt von der Radstrecke durch die Straßen Hamburgs, vorbei an den Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt, und endet mit dem Lauf am historischen Rathausmarkt, wo die enthusiastischen Zuschauermassen schon auf die Athleten warten.

Accommodation (Unterkunft)
The Barceló Hamburg is a 4-star hotel located in the heart of Hamburg, Germany. It is approximately 10 minutes walking distance to the iconic starting location of the Hamburg Triathlon, Jungfernstieg.
