The Event
Swim in the Gui River, bike beneath the Haituo mountains and run ‘the “rainbow runway”!
Make history and be one of the first to race at Challenge Beijing for its inaugural Olympic distance event. The event takes place in the Yanqing District, synonymous with Olympic legacy having hosted part of the 2019 Beijing Winter Olympics at the Beijing Expo Park.
The swim, bike and run course all take place in the Beijing Expo Park where the Gui River runs through and the Haituo Mountain Ranges serve as the backdrop, with lakes and peaks in full view.
The race concludes at the finish line in the Event Village, where participants can celebrate at the grand post-race party!
The location
Yanqing District is a district of the municipality of Beijing, locates northwest of the city proper of Beijing. Borders the Beijing districts of Huairou to the east and Changping to the south as well as the Hebei counties of Huailai to the west and Chicheng to the north.
Yanqing District has a continental monsoon climate, a transitional zone between temperate zone and mid-temperate zone, semi-arid and semi-humid zone. This is a unique climate, with cold winters and cool summers, with Yanqing being known as Beijing’s “summer capital”. The climate is cold in winter and is cool in summer, with an average annual temperature of 8°C.
Included in your package is a morning excursion to a section of the Great Wall of China, the Badaling Great Wall, an important historical site in China. The walls were constructed on cliffy mountain ranges without interrupt. Defense towers, watching towers, beacon towers connect walls together and stretch far away.

Getting There
Tour guests will be required to fly into Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) where our team will greet you and transfer you and your bike to your hotel in Beijing, approximately one hour and 15 minutes’ drive away. We can also offer private transfers at an additional cost for those wishing to fly into Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX).
