The Event

Since 2004, Western Australia has been a bucket-list race for athletes all over the world. Taking place in the idyllic seaside town of Busselton – the gateway to the famous Western Australia wine region of Margaret River –  ‘Busso’ is renowned for being the place to go for a personal best time with one of the flattest and fastest courses on the global circuit.

Abbey Beach Apartments

Just a 10 minute drive from the swim start at Busselton Jetty, Abbey Beach Resort is an ideal location for any athlete or spectator. The Sebel Busselton

Just a 10-minute drive from the swim start at Busselton Jetty, The Sebel Busselton is an ideal location for both athletes and spectators.  Enjoy the resort-style swimming pools,  gym facilities, or go for a game (or two) of tennis on the courts.

Event Location

Busselton is a city on the southwest tip of Western Australia, 230km south of Perth.

Getting There

Busselton is just a 2.5 hour drive south of Perth (approximately 220km).

Location Highlights

Busselton is known for its sheltered beach and seasonal humpback whale populations. The beachfront features the 19th-century Busselton Jetty. This wood pier stretches nearly 2km to the Underwater Observatory, where life in a coral reef is on view. To the city’s northeast, the towering tuart trees of Tuart Forest National Park are home to 2 species of possum.

Weather

The weather around race time in December is an average of 27 degrees. The days are warm, but the nights can be cool with the winds coming in off the sea in this exposed part of Western Australia.
