We are delighted to provide athletes with the opportunity to feel the support of a Tri Travel Tour at the 2025 The Championship in Samorin. As an official travel partner to the Challenge Family we have created a tour package designed to enable peak performance. The Event
Swim 1.1 miles, bike 55.9 miles and run 13.1 miles along the Danube River. The Championship is a middle-distance triathlon, the biggest in Slovakia, and will take place on 18 May 2025. The charming village of Samorin has 800 years worth of history and a rich tradition of sport. The venue for this event takes place at the remarkable multipurpose complex, x-bionic® sphere.

Race Entry, Travel and Accommodation
Guests are encouraged to arrive into Vienna International Airport (VIE) on Monday 12th May if you are on the Vienna extension or Wednesday 14th May if you are on the 5-night core package only. Scheduled transfers will transport you and your bike to our hotels by private coach transfer. The drive will take approximately 1 hour.

Throughout the tour, our team of experienced Tour Leaders will be on hand to provide support, advice and assist you with your race week needs.
You also have the option to add on a two-night pre-race extension in Vienna, which is the flight hub we recommend arriving in to. If you choose this option, please select which transfer type you require. You can join a private coach transfer or join one of our leaders on a cruise and ride upgrade. You must select your preference at check-out when making your booking.

X-Bionic Hotel
5-night core package – 14th May – 19th May 2025
The host venue for the Championship in Samorin is the X-Bionic Sphere, one of the best sports training facilities in Eastern Europe, and has a hotel on site, a perfect place to stay for your race week. The rooms at X-Bionic are housed in 5 blocks and the 282 rooms. The spacious rooms have excellent amenities including air-conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi and offer rooms with up to 4 people sharing. Their Olym-Pick restaurant onsite is geared towards high-performing athletes in training, so they are able to provide low-carb, high-carb, high-protein, low-fat, vegetarian, gluten-free or high-fibre meals depending on your training and nutritional needs. Breakfast is included in your stay, and we also offer the option to add lunch and dinner to your board basis for an additional fee.
You have unlimited access to their sports facilities including a full 8-lane running track and stadium as well as a warm-up 4-lane track and a fully-equipped professional gym, a 50m Olympic outdoor pool (open in the summer), a 25m indoor pool as well as recreational pools. There is even a solarium, a cryosauna and a full-service wellness area with a choice of saunas, three whirlpools, a cooling pool, a tepidarium, salt cave, a herbal steam room, these wellness options may require you to pay an additional fee on-site.
X-Bionic Hotel
Two night extension – 12th May – 14th May 2025
Radisson Red Vienna is a vibrant, contemporary hotel located in the heart of Vienna’s lively Leopoldstadt district. Known for its modern, edgy style and a laid-back atmosphere, the hotel offers guests a unique stay with a blend of bold design, technology, and comfort.
The stylish rooms are perfectly situated near the city’s action, with free excellent amenities including convenient charging ports, a big, comfortable bed, in-room coffee and tea facilities for hot drinks on demand, and high-speed free Wi-Fi.
Their service robot, Jeeves, is on hand to deliver orders right to your room, offering a modern touch to your stay. Event Location
The Championship 2025 takes place in Samorin at the x-bionic® sphere, situated 25 minutes from Slovakia’s capital Bratislava. Though Bratislava does have an international airport, regular flights to Vienna are available, where we will run transfers in and out from. The journey between Vienna International Airport and our hotel in Bratislava is a approximately 40 minutes.
Getting There
Though Bratislava does have an international airport, we recommend tour guests fly into Vienna, where there are regular flights from major hubs worldwide, where we will run private transfers in and out from including bike transportation. The journey between Vienna International Airport and Samorin is approximately one hour.
Should you wish to spend extra nights in Vienna post race, we can arrange hotel accommodation. Please enquire with our team, who can provide you with more information around this option.
Location Highlights
Western Slovakia is full of charm and history, close to the Hungarian border, in the centre of Europe. Samorin is located south-east of Bratislava and is know for the exceptional multi-sport complex x-bionic® sphere, a sports and leisure resort with ideal conditions for professional and amateur sports and where activities are plentiful. Bratislava is a small and walkable city with a rich history, excellent food and wine culture, beautiful architecture and walking/cycle networks besides the Danube.

Pre-race Vienna Extension
Monday 12 May 2025
Touch down in Vienna where an included transfer will take you to your hotel at the Radisson Red Vienna. Today is free for you to adjust to your surroundings. We will meet this evening to say a quick hello and go through the schedule for your race week.
Tuesday 13 May 2025
Join us this morning as we explore the beautiful city of Vienna on foot. We will be joined by a local runner to lead us on an 8km running tour of the city, taking in some key highlights. This is an optional extra, therefore you are free to enjoy your morning however you choose.
The afternoon and evening is free for you to enjoy the city. If you are planning on taking the cruise and ride transfer option on the 14th, we recommend you build your bike today, we can assist you with a local mechanic if you would like any bike servicing.
Wednesday 14 May 2025
Cruise & Ride transfer
If you have selected the cruise and ride option, this morning we will head down to the river where we will pick up an included cruise along the Danube from Vienna to Bratislava, bikes are allowed onboard. Once we arrive into Bratislava we will enjoy a local lunch in the city. You can then choose to ride with your Tri Travel leader to the race site in Samorin mostly along the river and approximately 25km, where you will check-in for your 5 night stay during the race, or you can pick up the group coach transfer in Bratislava and save your legs.
This activity is available for both athletes and spectators. Your luggage will be transferred for you by the group coach transfer.
Coach transfer
If you are on the pre-race extension and have selected a coach transfer, a coach will collect you from the hotel lobby after check-out. You will stop for a short while in Bratislava on route to stretch your legs and sample the city – then we will continue to x-bionic® sphere for to check-in to your rooms.
5-night x-bionic® sphere package arrivals
For those flying in today on the 5-night package, if you arrive in the morning, you will join the group transfer collecting fellow group members from Radisson Red Vienna, making a stop in Bratislava on route to your destination at x-bionic® sphere. If you arrive in the evening, you will pick up a scheduled evening transfer, and travel direct to x-bionic® sphere.
Thursday 15 May 2025
During your stay at x-bionic® sphere you have unlimited access to swimming pools, athletic track and gym to use at your leisure. Today is free for you to explore the facilities and the surrounding area of Samorin. This evening, we will meet for a welcome drink and meeting to discuss the race schedule.
Friday 16 May 2025
This morning access to the swim course will be open 7am to 9am for us to enjoy a group swim in the Danube river. We will regroup later this morning after breakfast to visit the expo – as part of the Tri Travel group you will have access to 10% discount off official merchandise.
This afternoon, we will do a group ride as part of a familiarisation tour of the bike course. There is also a venue walk through hosted by the organisers for first timers at 5pm this evening.
Saturday 17 May 2025
This morning, we will freshen up with a morning shake-out run. The route will be short and at a relaxed pace to loosen the legs for tomorrow. Unless you are participating in these races; TRYATHLON, SPRINT, STANDARD (OLYMPIC), in which case, it is race day for you! Your bikes will need to be checked in this morning.
Bike check-in for those racing The Championship is from 5.30pm. You have the freedom to enjoy a VIP spectator experience today with your included VIP ticket.
There is a Pasta Party this evening in the OLYM-PICK Restaurant. Times may be staggered.
Sunday 18 May 2025
Today is race day for those racing the middle distance (open) and The Championship. If you raced yesterday, it’s your turn to enjoy the VIP hospitality as we cheer on our fellow athletes. Spectators are welcome to join both days of the VIP viewing.
Once you have completed your race, come join us for a post-race celebration in VIP area. Your bikes & transition bags can be checked out after 3.30pm.

After a fantastic stay at the impressive x-bionic® sphere, it’s time to say goodbye. If you aren’t ready to fly off just yet, our team can book you extra nights in either Vienna or Bratislava.
